It Wasn’t That At All

The Saatchi Gallery invited two artists in residence Kate Daudy and Cyril de Commarque to create installations in response to the blockbuster exhibition Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh which was open from 2nd November 2019 until 3rd May 2020.

It Wasn’t That At All is Daudy’s response to the exhibition, creating a multimedia installation in which one of the gallery rooms became a temporary studio filled with artworks and research. During her residency Daudy intensely researched ancient Egyptian faith, culture and tradition, which is reflected in the intricacy and details of It Wasn’t That At All.
